Pohang City Provides 24-Hour Activity Assistance to Severely Disabled Elderly Living Alone

Pohang City has strengthened services for the most severely disabled living alone, who were previously supported for only up to 16 hours a day, and will now provide activity support benefits during late night hours (10 PM to 6 AM), assisting with 24-hour activity assistance.
In this regard, since June, after receiving applications, on-site investigations were conducted for candidates including those with quadriplegia bedridden and those with respiratory devices among the most severely disabled living alone, and 7 individuals were selected.
Pohang City’s Byeon Jun, Director of the Elderly and Disabled Welfare Division, stated, "As a basic local government, we have supported the largest number of people related to disabled activities in the Yeongnam region," and added, "Starting with the provision of 24-hour activity support services, we will strive further to improve the quality of life for disabled persons."
