DTRO President Hong Seung-hwal's First Words on His Third Term ... "Now with Corona"
Starting the Third 3-Year Term Leading with Consecutive 1st Place in Customer Satisfaction
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu Metropolitan Transit Corporation announced that the newly reappointed President Hong Seung-hwal officially began his duties on the 24th after receiving his appointment letter from Mayor Kwon Young-jin. His term is three years, until July 23, 2023.
President Hong started his first task by skipping ceremonial events such as the inauguration ceremony and jointly disinfecting the interior of trains turning around at Yongji Station on Line 3 with the labor union and civic groups.
Born in Yecheon, Gyeongbuk, President Hong has held key positions such as Daegu City Public Relations Officer, Planning and Coordination Director for the 2011 Daegu World Athletics Championships, and Director of the Safety Administration Bureau. Since 2014, he has been reappointed as the third president for the 10th to 12th terms.
During his previous two terms, President Hong achieved various accomplishments including ▲installation of screen doors at all stations ▲successful opening and early stabilization of Line 3 ▲ranking first in local public enterprise management evaluations ▲first place in national customer satisfaction for 12 consecutive years ▲winning the management project for the Sentosa Monorail in Singapore ▲advancing into the Panama Monorail construction project.
President Hong Seung-hwal stated, "Before discussing the post-COVID-19 era, I believe it is more important to prepare for the with-COVID-19 era. We will maintain all stations and trains as COVID-19 clean zones so that citizens can use the metropolitan transit system with peace of mind."
