Meet the Various Charms of Gangbuk-gu Through Photos... The 9th Photo Contest Held
History and Culture Contest Related to Gangbuk-gu, Including Gangbuk, from August 14 to October 14... Online Submission via Website, Expert Review and Netizen Evaluation to Select a Total of 16 Works
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) is hosting the "9th Gangbuk-gu Photo Contest" to promote various images of the district, including its beautiful environment and the vibrant daily lives of its residents, both domestically and internationally.
Anyone can participate in the contest. Applicants should submit works related to themes about Gangbuk-gu such as Historical and Cultural Gangbuk (the district's past and present), and Hopeful Gangbuk (family love, resident-participatory festivals and events, district symbols).
From August 14 to October 14, submissions of up to three works per person can be made through the Gangbuk-gu Internet Broadcasting Station website. After registering as a member on the website, participants should submit JPG files under 10MB.
The district will select the final winners on November 23 through expert judging and netizen evaluation. Awards will be given to a total of 16 winners: 1 Grand Prize winner (prize money 1,000,000 KRW), 2 Excellence Award winners (each 500,000 KRW), 3 Encouragement Award winners (each 300,000 KRW), and 10 Honorable Mentions (each 100,000 KRW), along with certificates and prize money.

Since 2013, the district has held the photo contest annually to discover hidden charms throughout Gangbuk-gu. In the 8th Photo Contest in 2019, the work titled "Autumn Frame," taken from inside the Palgakjeong pavilion at Wolyeongji in Buk Seoul Dream Forest, was selected as the Grand Prize winner.
