59-Year-Old Woman Living in Segok-dong, Gangnam-gu Confirmed with COVID-19
Employee Working at Hanwha Life in Jung-gu with Cluster Infection Tests Positive on 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] A 59-year-old woman residing in Segok-dong, Gangnam-gu, tested positive for COVID-19 on the morning of the 17th.
With this, the total number of confirmed cases in Gangnam-gu has increased to 92.
The woman is an employee working at Hanwha Life in Jung-gu, where a recent cluster infection occurred. Although she showed no particular symptoms, she underwent a specimen test at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center the day before and tested positive that morning.
Gangnam-gu identified the confirmed patient's movements within the area and conducted disinfection along her travel routes. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing for additional contacts.

Jung Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "As of today, there are 1,167 people under self-quarantine managed by Gangnam-gu, of which 1,115 are overseas arrivals and 52 are domestic contacts. Gangnam-gu conducts tests not only immediately after entry but also once more after the self-quarantine period ends for overseas arrivals, thoroughly preventing the spread of community infections caused by overseas entrants."
