Gyeongbuk Province Awards Grand Prize in Chinese Calligraphy Category to Go Doo-hwan at the 47th Calligraphy Competition

The award ceremony for this year's contest, hosted by the Korean Fine Arts Association Gyeongsangbuk-do Branch and sponsored by Gyeongbuk Province, was held on the 17th at Dongnakgwan, Gyeongbuk Provincial Office. This contest awarded a total of 370 works, including 1 grand prize, 1 best award, 9 excellence awards, 1 special award, 86 selected works, 270 winning entries, and 2 invited artist awards.
In the Hangul category, the excellence awards went to Yoon Eun-kyung's 'Hangul Bongsyeo' and Lee Eun-joo's 'Everything Will Go Well.' In the Chinese character category, the excellence awards were given to Park Jae-hong's 'Yongdamjukjisa,' Yoon Seung-hee's 'Toegye Seonsaeng Si' (Woojung Sangryeon), and Kim Do-geol's 'Sasiyugeoeum?chun.'
In the literary painting category, excellence awards were given to 'Pacho and Rose' (by Kim Byung-hwa), 'Mokjuk' (Byun Yong-taek), and 'Pine Tree' (Kim Kyung-hye). In the calligraphy category, 'Cheongsan Byeolgok' (Park Hyun-joo) received an award. The invited artist awards were given to Yeon Min-ho in the Chinese character category and Choi Young-jo in the literary painting category.
The awarded works will be exhibited from the 17th to the 26th at Dongnakgwan, Gyeongbuk Provincial Office. The list of awardees can be found on the Gyeongsangbuk-do Fine Arts Association website.
