India imposed a strict lockdown on March 25 to curb the spread of COVID-19. However, considering concerns about economic recession, the lockdown was gradually lifted starting in mid-May. During this process, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases surged. In particular, with factories operating in the capital New Delhi and the largest economic city Mumbai, the number of confirmed cases increased rapidly, and recently other major cities such as Bengaluru and Pune have become new hotspots for outbreaks.
