Jung Sung-kyu, Dispatched Banker to Startup: "Learn Innovative Ideas"
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] Hana Bank is dispatching its bank employees to five startups. This is a special mission from President Jiseong Kyu to learn the working methods and innovative ideas of startups.
Hana Bank announced on the 8th that it will conduct a six-month "Innovative Company OJT Program" with five startups.
This program is the first collaboration training program with startups in the domestic banking sector. The five startups where the employees will be dispatched are Finda, MindsLab, Omnius, Data Marketing Korea, and Jaranda, all participating in the bank's discovery, collaboration, and nurturing program called "1Q Agile Lab."
The bank explained that the program was planned with the purpose of nurturing innovative talents who can overcome the barriers of traditional finance and lead the bank's future new business. Five employees were selected through a public contest last month, overcoming a final competition rate of 35 to 1.
Hana Bank supports matching the employees participating in this Innovative Company OJT Program with doctors in the fields of Digital Transformation (DT), Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the Hana Financial Convergence Technology Institute as mentors and mentees, enabling technical advice and joint research. Following this program, the bank plans to activate the in-house venture system to help employees' new business ideas grow into practical businesses.
