[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Unit 2 of Hanul Nuclear Power Plant, located in Buk-myeon, Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, was urgently shut down due to water quality issues in the feedwater system.
Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (Head: Lee Jong-ho) announced that at around 5:44 a.m. on the 4th, the water quality of the secondary feedwater system of Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2 (Pressurized Water Reactor type, 950 MW class) deteriorated, leading to a manual shutdown of the turbine. Currently, the reactor output has decreased to about 1%.
