Sunchang-gun Selected for the '2020 Consumer-Selected Sports Leisure Award'
On the 1st, Daily Sports Korea Sports Promotion Division
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 2nd that it was selected as the winner of the ‘1st 2020 Sports Leisure Award Selected by Consumers’ hosted by Daily Sports Korea and sponsored by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation and Living TV on the 1st.
According to the county, this award is given to institutions, companies, or facilities related to the sports leisure field that have contributed to all citizens enjoying safe and happy sports leisure and recreational activities.
The winners were selected in a total of 14 categories by combining the results of a general public survey and the judging panel’s evaluation. As a result, Sunchang-gun, along with Jangheung-gun, Yongin-si, Suncheon-si, and Mokpo-si, received the honor.
To ensure fairness in selecting the winners, Daily Sports Korea commissioned a sports research institute to conduct the general public survey. The judging panel was also composed of academic experts.
Sunchang-gun, selected in the sports promotion category, is accelerating efforts to discover content in the sports leisure field such as canoeing, horseback riding, and the Seomjin River Bicycle Path, as well as expanding the base of community sports.
The county received high marks for its planning and execution capabilities in the sports leisure administrative system, including the creation of Hyangga Auto Camping Site where the natural atmosphere of all four seasons can be enjoyed, revitalization of the local economy through sports marketing, and playing a leading role in sports promotion.
