Son In-guk, Chairman of Igusan Industry, Appointed as Chairman of the SME Love Sharing Foundation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Son In-guk, chairman of Igu Industry, has been inaugurated as the 5th chairman of the Small and Medium Business Love Sharing Foundation.
The Small and Medium Business Love Sharing Foundation announced on the 2nd that it held the inauguration ceremony for Chairman Son at the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, Seoul. Established in 2012 by the Korea Federation of SMEs to promote social contribution in the SME sector, the foundation carries out various social contribution activities such as revitalizing traditional markets, providing scholarships for children of SMEs, and operating volunteer groups composed of SME employees.
Appointed as the 5th chairman, Chairman Son has been recognized for his dedication to the development of the SME sector, having served as chairman of the Korea Nonferrous Metal Industry Cooperative and vice chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs. He currently also serves as chairman of the Ansan Nonferrous Metal Distribution Business Cooperative.
In addition, over more than 40 years of running his business, he has made significant efforts toward regional community development. While serving as a crime prevention commissioner for the Ministry of Justice, he took the lead in improving the environment for local youth and supporting related activities. He was awarded the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit on Small and Medium Enterprise Day in 2010 in recognition of his contributions to improving the management environment of SMEs, fostering a sound labor-management culture, and social contribution activities.

New Foundation Chairman Son In-guk stated, "The difficulties faced by low-income groups due to COVID-19 have intensified, requiring a spirit of cooperation and solidarity among citizens," adding, "The Small and Medium Business Love Sharing Foundation will serve as a catalyst to spread a culture of social contribution through solidarity among SMEs." The foundation chairman position is an unpaid honorary post with a four-year term.
