On the 1st, the SBS entertainment program 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant' aired the final story of the '2020 Summer Special.'
On that day, Baek Jong-won and the MCs made a surprise visit to the curry restaurant in Dunchon-dong. When they appeared, the restaurant owner and her boyfriend showed surprised expressions.
The MCs continued to praise after tasting the curry. Baek Jong-won said, "Your skills have definitely improved? It's gotten better," adding, "Back then, you definitely couldn't cook curry better than me, but now you cook it better than I do." Kim Sung-joo also complimented, "The curry is delicious."
In response, the owner humbly said, "Thanks to all the teaching."
After finishing the meal, Baek Jong-won asked, "Are there any complaints from customers?" The owner shared her concern, saying, "Customers say they get a bit tired of eating only curry, but I have to stick to my abilities, so I tell them I only do curry."
Baek Jong-won then shared his thoughts, saying, "Compared to last October, the food quality has thickened, but the customer base has thinned out," adding, "Because the solution ended unfinished back then, many people probably guessed, 'It will go back to how it was before.'
The owner rated her satisfaction with her food at "about 60%." She expressed her difficulties, saying, "I think about whether I would pay to eat this if I were a customer," and "I'm trying to improve continuously, but it wasn't easy because I started from a state of ignorance."
Then Kim Sung-joo said, "It was true that you were harsher and stricter than other places," and asked, "Did you think a lot about what CEO Baek Jong-won said?"
The owner replied, "It would be a lie to say I wasn't hurt. But I think that story led me in the right direction," adding, "I believe it was for the sake of juniors starting in the food service industry."
Baek Jong-won said, "If we do it now, there isn't much to solve. I think we'll add one or two menu items," and continued, "What I'm really thankful for is that even people who have been in business for a long time lose their initial passion after appearing on our show, and we struggle. But here, they are true beginners, and the two of them are doing well together."
