BPA has been conducting annual safety training for about 2,000 port workers to establish a safety culture at Busan Port and raise safety awareness among field workers.
As COVID-19 has prolonged, the safety training, which was previously conducted in group sessions, has been converted to online training via YouTube, allowing convenient participation anytime and anywhere through PCs and mobile phones.
The training method is to search for the ‘Busan Port Training Center’ channel on YouTube and participate in the required training. The curriculum includes 24 training videos covering safety by industry and task, such as basic safety for cargo handlers, preparation for vessel operations and safe boarding and disembarking methods, and safe vessel loading (lashing) operations.
The training materials are composed mainly of practical cases that can be used on site, including safety rules workers must follow and accident prevention methods. Each video is about 15 minutes long, allowing participants to complete the desired training appropriately.
