[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 28th that it will hold the "International Architectural Ideas Competition Preparing for the Post-COVID-19 Era" to explore advanced measures in the urban and architectural fields that will change after the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The application period is from the 29th of this month to the 24th of next month.
This competition seeks various architectural ideas to proactively address changes in architecture and urban areas during the chaotic period caused by COVID-19. The competition will select winners based on the diversity and originality of ideas, and anyone interested in architecture, including the general public and architectural professionals, can participate.
Due to social distancing measures, submissions will be accepted in a non-face-to-face manner, allowing participation from overseas as well. Participants can easily apply and submit their works through the application website.
A total of 11 works will be selected as winners in this competition, and a total prize of 11 million KRW will be awarded to the winners. The selected works will be announced on the website on the 31st of next month and will be publicly exhibited at the "2020 Seoul Architecture Festival" to be held in October this year.
