Incheon City "Supports 6 Months' Salary for Employing Youth Under 39"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Incheon City announced on the 28th that it will promote the 'Youth Employment Support Project,' which provides monthly salary support to local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies that employ youth aged 39 and under.
Companies and young workers participating in this project will receive support for labor costs and education expenses for six months each. Companies that hire young workers will receive labor cost support during a three-month internship period, and if they convert the worker to a full-time employee afterward, they will receive an additional three months' salary support. Labor costs are paid directly to the companies, while education expenses of 100,000 KRW per month are paid directly to the young workers.
Once hired as a worker, they must work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (40 hours per week), and can receive a monthly salary of at least 1,875,000 KRW (before tax). Incheon City plans to support the monthly salaries and other expenses of 150 young people residing in the Incheon area at SMEs and mid-sized companies until June next year.
