POSCO, 1 Worker Injured in Fire Recovery Operations at Pohang Steelworks Plant
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Recently, one employee involved in recovery work at the POSCO Pohang Steelworks factory in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, where a fire broke out, was injured.
According to POSCO on the 26th, around 2 p.m. that day, one of two workers performing crane-related tasks at the stainless steel annealing and pickling (Sodunsanse) plant at the Pohang Steelworks sustained a chest contusion. The employee was immediately transported to a hospital and is receiving treatment.
POSCO stated that the injury is minor. The injured worker was involved in recovery work at the factory where the fire occurred on the 13th. Sodunsanse is part of the process for processing stainless steel.

Earlier, at the Sodunsanse plant, a fire broke out during the major repair period on the afternoon of the 13th and was extinguished by the fire authorities within two hours.
