Child Found Dead Trapped in Travel Bag Sent to Prosecution as 'Biological Father'
[Asia Economy (Cheonan) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The biological father of A (9), who died trapped in a travel bag, has been sent to the prosecution.
The Chungnam Provincial Police Agency announced on the 26th that they have sent the biological father B (42) to the prosecution on charges of child abuse under the Child Welfare Act.
B is suspected of abusing his biological son, including hitting him, from last year until recently. It is reported that B has largely admitted to the charges.
However, the police believe that B was not involved in the incident where the child was found dead inside the travel bag. CCTV footage confirmed that B was not at home at the time the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, the victim child was found in a state of cardiac arrest inside a travel bag measuring 44 cm in width and 60 cm in length at B's house in Seobuk-gu, Cheonan City on the 1st. The child was taken to the hospital but ultimately passed away on the afternoon of the 3rd, two days later.

The person who confined the victim child in the bag was B's cohabiting partner C (41). At the time of the incident, B is believed to have left the child trapped in the bag for over seven hours, leading to the child's death. C is currently detained on charges of child abuse resulting in death and is under investigation by the prosecution.
