Maintenance of Overhead Cables Around Gwangjin-gu Office Until the End of This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will organize aerial cables that spoil the urban landscape around Gwangjin-gu Office by the end of this year.
The aerial cable maintenance project is a project to organize aerial cables that have increased indiscriminately due to the increase in broadcasting and communication service subscribers and unmaintained abandoned lines after use, which not only spoil the urban landscape but can also lead to safety accidents.
The district has been selecting areas every year since 2013 to maintain aerial cables.
This year, the 'Gwangjin-gu Aerial Cable Maintenance Promotion Council' was formed together with 10 telecommunications companies including Korea Electric Power Corporation Gwangjin Seongdong Branch and KT, which manage aerial cables.
The maintenance area is a 6km section around Gwangjin-gu Office in Jayang 1(il)-dong, and after an on-site inspection of the maintenance area in November last year, construction began last month and systematic maintenance will be promoted until the end of this year.
The main maintenance contents are ▲ reinforcement of utility poles and communication poles ▲ maintenance of cables complicatedly connected from poles to buildings ▲ maintenance of excessively installed broadcasting and communication cables ▲ maintenance of sagging aerial cables.
