GS25 Partners with Yangju City to Identify and Support Welfare Blind Spots
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] GS25 announced on the 26th that it will join hands with Yangju City to carry out a 'Welfare Blind Spot Discovery and Support' campaign to identify and support families in crisis.
Through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Yangju City for 'Welfare Blind Spot Discovery and Support,' GS25 agreed to actively cooperate in ▲promotional activities to actively resolve welfare blind spots ▲immediate reporting upon identifying families in crisis ▲active counseling through on-site visits when receiving reports of families in crisis.
This MOU was established based on the judgment that marginalized groups may have difficulty applying for welfare services due to limited access to welfare-related information online, and that promoting through convenience stores with high customer visits would be effective.
GS25 stores will post welfare information promotional materials and, upon inquiries related to this during store visits, will refer them to local government officials. When families in crisis are identified, reports will be made to the Yangju City Social Welfare Division. Yangju City will conduct on-site visits for counseling and provide support when receiving inquiries or reports of families in crisis.

Jeon Seungho, GS25 Sales Area Team Leader, said, “We are pleased that GS25, the store most frequently and easily visited by customers, can play the role of a sharing platform for families in welfare blind spots by partnering with Yangju City.” He added, “Based on this MOU, we will strive to think about and improve ways to serve as a more diverse life platform, in line with our corporate social responsibility slogan ‘Give and Share.’”
