POSCO Energy Employees Participate in Volunteer Activities in Honor of Global Model Citizen Week
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO Energy is contributing to the development of local communities during the POSCO Group's special volunteer period, the 'Global Model Citizen Week,' which lasts for nine days.
From the 19th to the 27th, POSCO Energy will carry out various social contribution activities based on its social contribution brand 'Energy Dream,' which signifies providing not only electrical energy in daily life but also vitality and hope. In particular, meaningful volunteer activities were conducted in connection with the 70th anniversary of the Korean War.
President Jung and the employees produced 150 Energy Save Kits to be delivered to elderly low-income veterans' families in the Seoul and Incheon areas. POSCO Energy prepared the Energy Save Kits, which include essential daily items such as summer blankets and mats, dehumidifiers, Home Keeper insect repellent, and water-based pain relief patches, to help veterans' families stay cool and healthy during the summer.
Earlier, on the 22nd, volunteer activities were held to create mural streets at the Pureun Kkum Regional Children's Center in Seo-gu, Incheon, and the nearby residential area. Since 2012, POSCO Energy has been continuously creating mural streets to brighten and beautify crime-prone areas so that women and children can walk safely. So far, mural streets have been created in a total of 30 locations, including 17 sites in Seo-gu, Incheon, 1 in Seoul, 8 in Pohang, and 4 in Gwangyang.
In addition, considering social distancing due to COVID-19, non-face-to-face volunteer activities are also being carried out. These include delivering non-face-to-face lunchboxes for low-income groups and participating in blood donation drives to supplement blood shortages, with plans to donate blood certificates to national merit recipients.
