Shinhan Card and Shinsegae Department Store Launch 'SinSinDangBu' Campaign to Revitalize Local Economy
National Good Consumption Partnership Project
Special 'Hamkkaegachi' Gifts Made with Gyeongbuk Sesame and Jeonnam Anchovies
Donation of Local Specialties to Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 25th that it will launch the 'ShinShinDangBu' campaign together with Shinsegae Department Store to revitalize the local economy struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The campaign title 'ShinShinDangBu' carries a double meaning: a nationwide message urging participation in revitalizing the depressed local economy through consumption, and a message that Shinhan Card and Shinsegae Department Store are supporting together.
The first project, 'Hamkkae Gachi ShinShinDangBu,' involves Shinhan Card and Shinsegae Department Store purchasing local specialties in bulk to provide them as gifts to consumers at the department store and also donating them to neighbors in need in the respective regions.
'Hamkkae Gachi' means 'Let's participate in valuable and good consumption together' and is a phonetic play on the local specialties 'kkae (sesame from Goryeong, Gyeongbuk)' and 'myeolchi (anchovies from Wando, Jeonnam).' Additionally, by linking this with the Korea Together Sale hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, it is expected to maximize the effect of spreading good consumption.
The campaign will be held at all Shinsegae Department Store branches, and consumers who pay a certain amount or more with the Shinsegae Shinhan Card will receive specially made Hamkkae Gachi gifts. From the 26th to the 28th, an oil set made from sesame from Gyeongbuk will be prepared, and from the 3rd to the 5th of next month, an anchovy set made from Jeonnam anchovies will be available.
Both companies have also committed to coexistence with neighbors in need within the regions. They will purchase additional oil and anchovy sets for the 'Hamkkae Gachi ShinShinDangBu' event and deliver them to vulnerable groups in Gyeongbuk and Jeonnam. To this end, in July, Shinhan Card's social contribution brand 'Areum-in' will collaborate with social organizations in the Gyeongbuk and Jeonnam areas to donate local specialties.
