Governor Kim Kyung-soo Holds Policy Meeting with Local Members of Parliament
Current Issues and Requests for National Funding Projects Including Aviation, Shipbuilding, and Specialized Materials and Equipment Complexes

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 23rd that Governor Kim Kyung-soo held a policy meeting with Democratic Party lawmakers from the province at the Kensington Hotel in Seoul.
The meeting was attended by Governor Kim, along with lawmakers Min Hong-chul, Kim Jung-ho, and Kim Doo-kwan, and was organized to share plans for securing the 2021 national budget and to explore solutions for key pending projects.
Governor Kim first congratulated lawmaker Min Hong-chul and others on their election in the recent general election, then requested support for nine projects including special employment support for the aviation manufacturing industry crisis, strengthening competitiveness of small and medium-sized shipyards, expanded support for large-scale industrial complex remodeling linked to the Green New Deal, proposal for the selection of the Miryang win-win regional job model, designation of specialized complexes and leading companies for materials, parts, and equipment, and expanded policy fund support for stabilizing small and medium enterprises.
Additionally, he requested national budget support for 20 urgent projects for next year, including ▲ establishment of a smart factory digital cluster for the aviation industry ▲ introduction of green new deal electric trains on the Bujeon~Masan line ▲ ultra-wide cooperation Gaya cultural zone development project ▲ construction of a natural product safety support center.

Governor Kim Kyung-soo stated, “Since an integrated new airport is being promoted in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, the Southeast new airport should be constructed as a new airport for residents of the Gyeongnam, Busan, and Ulsan regions,” and urged, “Let us work together to ensure it proceeds in the direction desired by the residents of the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam areas.”
