Strengthening Cooperation for Commercialization Promotion and Evaluation System of SMEs in Materials, Parts, and Equipment

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Jung Yoon-mo, hereinafter Kibo) and the Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency (President Lee Jae-hong, hereinafter SMBA) have joined forces to strengthen support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the materials, parts, and equipment sector and to innovate the SME research and development (R&D) evaluation system.
On the 22nd, Kibo and SMBA announced that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for "Cooperation to Promote Commercialization of SMEs in the Materials, Parts, and Equipment Sector and Innovate the Evaluation System" at the SMBA headquarters in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.
According to this agreement, the "Tech Bridge utilization commercialization R&D project" will be prioritized. This project aims to transfer excellent technologies owned by universities and research institutes to SMEs and support the acquisition of independent technologies by SMEs in the materials, parts, and equipment sector through follow-up commercialization technology development support. Kibo will transfer technologies in the materials, parts, and equipment sector to companies through the Tech Bridge platform, and SMBA will provide follow-up commercialization technology development funds to SMEs that have received technology transfers.
In addition, they agreed to establish a close cooperation system regarding ▲ discovery of transferred technology projects in the materials, parts, and equipment sector ▲ information exchange to promote commercialization ▲ support for R&D and acquisition guarantees and commercialization funds for selected companies ▲ support for 100 strong SMEs in the materials, parts, and equipment sector ▲ innovation of the Smart R&D evaluation system.
