Daegu City, 'Overcoming Dementia' Children's Drawing Contest Exhibition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 21st that it will hold the '2020 Dementia Overcoming Children's Drawing Contest' together with the Daegu Metropolitan Dementia Center to foster a nationwide consensus on overcoming dementia.
Now in its second year, the theme of this contest is 'Our Happy Neighborhood Even with Dementia.' Children are free to express through drawings what they can do to help elderly people with dementia, how to live together with dementia patients in their neighborhood, and efforts to prevent dementia from a child's perspective.
The submission period is from July 1 to 31. Participation is open to any elementary school student residing in the Daegu area. Those who wish to participate should draw a picture according to the theme and submit it by mail to the Daegu Metropolitan Dementia Center. Detailed information is available on the Daegu Metropolitan Dementia Center website.
After expert evaluation, 16 winners will be selected and awarded, including the Daegu Mayor's Award (2 people), Daegu Superintendent of Education Award (4 people), and Daegu Metropolitan Dementia Center Director's Award (10 people). The selected works will be exhibited at the 'Daegu Dementia Overcoming Day Commemoration Event' in September and will be used for public interest purposes in the future.
