[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 21st that it will take strong measures, including filing complaints against uncooperative confirmed COVID-19 patients during epidemiological investigations related to cluster infections within the region.
According to the city, on the previous day, Mayor Heo Tae-jeong presided over an emergency disaster safety countermeasure meeting with senior officials and ordered, "Take strong action against confirmed patients who hide their movement paths with lies or do not actively cooperate with epidemiological investigations."
Accordingly, the city plans to take measures such as filing complaints and claiming damages against those who do not cooperate with quarantine authorities by providing false statements during epidemiological investigations in the future.
A city official stated, "Some confirmed patients do not disclose their movement routes or fabricate false information during epidemiological investigations, causing confusion in tracking their paths," and added, "The city plans to respond with measures such as requesting investigations and claiming compensation rights if such obstruction of epidemiological investigations continues."
