Magnitude 2.3 Earthquake Occurs Near Goseong, Gangwon Province
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] A magnitude 2.3 earthquake occurred at 9:49 a.m. on the 21st in the sea area 11 km north-northeast of Goseong-gun, Gangwon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the epicenter is at 38.47 degrees north latitude and 128.52 degrees east longitude. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 9 km.
The instrumental intensity of the earthquake was observed to be a maximum of 2 in the Gangwon region. An instrumental intensity of 2 means only a few people in quiet places or on the upper floors of buildings can feel the earthquake.
