KOSPI Closes Slightly Higher at '2140 Level'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] On the 19th, the KOSPI closed with a slight upward trend.
On that day, the KOSPI index closed at 2141.32, up 7.84 points (0.37%) from the previous day. The index opened at 2153.09, up 0.92%, but soon gave up the gains and fluctuated around the flat line. It finished with a slight strength in the late session.
By investor type, individuals and foreigners net bought 166.1 billion KRW and 50.7 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, institutions net sold 220.6 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics (1.15%), Naver (0.81%), Celltrion (1.39%), LG Chem (4.28%), and Samsung SDI (2.12%) rose. SK Hynix (-0.93%), Samsung Biologics (-1.11%), and Samsung C&T (-1.23%) declined. Kakao and Hyundai Motor showed a flat trend.
On the same day, the KOSDAQ index closed at 742.03, up 4.70 points (0.64%) from the previous day. The index started at 743.35 points, up 0.82% from the previous session, then fluctuated between declines and rises.
On KOSDAQ, individuals net bought 154.3 billion KRW, while foreigners (-67.2 billion KRW) and institutions (-30.2 billion KRW) net sold.
