View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 49 on the 19th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on that day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was 12,306, an increase of 49 from midnight the previous day.
The daily number of confirmed cases surged to 79 on the 28th of last month, then dropped to the 20s, and since the 1st of this month, it has fluctuated between 30 and 50 cases.
Among the new patients, 29 cases occurred in the Seoul metropolitan area: 18 in Seoul and 11 in Gyeonggi. No confirmed cases were reported in Incheon on that day.
Although recent new cases have been concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, the virus appears to be spreading to other regions as well. On that day, 6 cases were confirmed in Daejeon, 3 in Jeju, and 11 at airport quarantine.

There were 32 domestic cases and 17 imported cases. The number of patients who have been declared recovered and released from isolation was 10,835, an increase of 35 from the previous day. The death toll remained at 280, unchanged from the previous day.
