Financial Support to be Strengthened for Successful Companies in Government R&D Projects
Gibo-KEIT Signs 'Industrial Technology R&D Successful Project Commercialization Support MOU'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced on the 18th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) to support the commercialization of successful industrial technology R&D projects.
Kibo signed this agreement to strengthen financial support for successful R&D project companies and share evaluation systems by establishing a financial support system with KEIT, a government R&D research management specialized institution. According to the agreement, KEIT will recommend successful government R&D project companies to Kibo, and Kibo will support R&D commercialization guarantees for the recommended companies.
Kibo plans to conduct evaluations promptly using the Smart Evaluation System (KIBOT) and the Patent Automatic Evaluation System (KPAS), and offer preferential treatment for guarantee ratios and guarantee fees. Additionally, by building an information-sharing platform for R&D performing companies, Kibo and the government will mutually share support information, and they plan to establish a joint utilization plan for the patent evaluation system (KPAS) to assess the possibility of patent technology transactions and value related to R&D.
