According to local media on the 17th, 477 people were collectively infected with COVID-19 at Lotte Confectionery's Almaty Rahat factory in Kazakhstan.
Zhandarbek Beksin, Chief Public Health Officer of Almaty, stated, "From May 30 to the 4th of this month, 10 people were confirmed positive for the virus following tests at the Rahat factory," and added, "So far, out of a total of 1,450 factory workers, 467 have been additionally identified as asymptomatic cases and have been placed under self-quarantine."
