Prosecutors Request Arrest Warrants for 9 Responsible for Icheon Logistics Warehouse Fire
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The prosecution has requested arrest warrants for nine individuals related to the construction company, supervision team, and subcontractors in connection with the fire at a logistics warehouse construction site in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
The Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 17th that it took this action after reviewing the arrest warrants and investigation records for nine people, including Mr. A, a representative of the client Han Express, which were requested on the 14th by the investigation headquarters of the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency, currently investigating the case.

Earlier, the police had booked 24 people on charges including professional negligence resulting in death or injury in relation to the fire: five executives of Han Express, nine executives of the construction company Geonwoo, six members of the supervision team, and four subcontractors. Among them, those for whom arrest warrants were requested include Mr. A, three from the construction company, two from the supervision team, and three from the subcontractors. The schedule for the pre-arrest detention hearings (warrant hearings) for Mr. A and others has not yet been decided.
