Park Jung-won and Lee Dong-geol Meet to "Swiftly Implement Self-Rescue Plan"
Chairman Park Holds Meeting with Chairman Lee Recently, States "We Will Become an Energy-Centered Company"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Park Jung-won, chairman of Doosan Group, met with Lee Dong-geol, chairman of the Korea Development Bank (KDB), and said, "We will promptly implement the self-rescue plan."
On the 17th, KDB introduced the recent meeting between Chairman Park and Chairman Lee during its 'Major Issues Online Briefing.'
Choi Dae-hyun, KDB's vice president, explained, "The meeting between the two chairmen was held several times at Doosan's request," adding, "Since the transaction agreement has been concluded, it was just a general meeting."
Vice President Choi conveyed, "At this meeting, Chairman Park expressed his intention to promptly implement the self-rescue plan," and "He also stated that the company aims to become an energy-centered enterprise."
Regarding the sale of Doosan Group's assets, it was explained that sufficient time will be given so that Doosan can proceed autonomously. Setting a fixed period could lead to time pressure, which might result in selling at a low price due to rushing.
Regarding the sale targets, Vice President Choi responded, "Considering the new capital injection of 3 trillion won, one can estimate the scale."
In the market, it is expected that Doosan Solus (approximately 850 billion won), Doosan Tower (approximately 800 billion won), Motrol BG (approximately 500 billion won), Doosan Mecatec (approximately 300 billion won), and Club Mow Golf Course (in the 100 billion won range) will be put up for sale.
The stance on Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction's corporate structure and business division reorganization is to observe.
