The Cyber Investigation Unit of Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 15th that seven people, including A (26), were booked without detention on charges of fraud. Among them, three were confirmed to be minors.
A and his group are suspected of creating websites similar to those of famous mask companies from March 1st for five days and swindling 4.37 million won from 83 people.
A and others posted on online communities with the message "Masks are available at a low price," attaching links to the fake sites to induce access.
Victims who saw this accessed the attached sites, ordered masks, and transferred money according to the quantity, but it was investigated that none of the goods were received.
