[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] Democratic Party National Assembly member Lee Won-taek of Gimje-Buan visited the flooded farmland and seawater backflow damage sites in the Gimje and Buan areas on the 14th and 15th to assess the damage and seek solutions.

Accordingly, on the 14th, Rep. Lee visited three locations affected by seawater backflow damage: Hoam Embankment in Buan, the habitual flood zone at Gomso Port, and the seawater damage site in Boan-myeon.
Then, on the 15th, he inspected seven flood damage sites in the Gimje area (Janghwa-ri in Gyowol-dong, Manggyeong-eup, Cheongha-myeon, Seochon-ri in Gongdeok-myeon, Deokgwang-ri in Gongdeok-myeon, and Banwol-ri in Baekgu-myeon).
Residents of the flooded areas stated, “The concentrated heavy rain in just one day caused flooding damage, and we are worried about even greater damage once the monsoon season begins,” adding, “We need fundamental solutions such as expanding drainage channels to address the flooding damage that has persisted for years.”
