Siheung City announced on the 12th that a 13-year-old male middle school student, A, residing in Jeongwang 1-dong, tested positive.
The student attended school starting from the 8th, showed symptoms on the 9th, was tested on the 11th, and received a positive diagnosis on the same day.
The city health authorities, in consultation with the educational institution, have closed Jeongwang Middle School and are conducting a full investigation of about 120 students and staff members.

Siheung City stated, "We take the current situation, where a confirmed case has occurred in a school where many students live together, very seriously and plan to carry out thorough quarantine and rapid testing. An epidemiological investigation is currently underway.
