Geumcheon-gu Reports 20th and 21st Confirmed COVID-19 Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseonghun) announced on the 10th that the 20th and 21st confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) occurred consecutively.
The 20th confirmed case is a 60-year-old male, Mr. A, who lives with three family members in Doksan 4-dong, Geumcheon-gu, and is known to operate a printing business in Jung-gu, Seoul. Mr. A was identified as a contact of the 19th confirmed case related to Yesu Vision Holiness Church (confirmed on June 9).
The 21st confirmed case is a 72-year-old male, Mr. B, living alone in Doksan 3-dong, Geumcheon-gu, who was identified as a contact of the 43rd confirmed case in Guro-gu (confirmed on June 2). Mr. B was an asymptomatic carrier and had been self-quarantining since the 3rd. He tested negative in the initial test conducted on the 5th.
However, after confirming Mr. B's violation of self-quarantine on the 9th, a retest was conducted, which resulted in a positive diagnosis. The district plans to take legal action against Mr. B for violating mandatory self-quarantine.
The district will transfer Mr. A and Mr. B to Seonam Hospital, a nationally designated hospital, and will place their cohabiting family members under self-quarantine and conduct tests.

Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "To prevent the spread of infection in the area, we will thoroughly disinfect the area around the confirmed patients' residences and quickly identify and disclose their movement paths based on their statements and epidemiological investigations." He added, "As transmission cases from small gatherings have recently occurred, we ask residents to refrain from visiting crowded places such as religious activities and group sales locations."
