Election for Jeonju City School Operation Committee Chairperson, Kang Ji-woong of Gijeon Girls' High School 'Elected'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] In the election for the chairman of the Jeonju School Operation Committee Council in Jeonbuk, Kang Ji-woong, the chairman of the Jeonju Gijeon Girls' High School Operation Committee, who ran as candidate number 1, was elected as the chairman of the Jeonju Council.
The election for the council chairman was held on the 10th at the large auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Jeonbuk Office of Education, with four candidates running.
In the election, candidate number 1, Kang Ji-woong, appealed for support by promising to improve school uniforms for easier activity and pledged to become a trusted chairman among parents.
Next, candidate number 2, Kim Jong-hwan, chairman of the Unbit Middle School Operation Committee, asked for support by stating that he would facilitate communication between schools, education, and the operation committee through the Naver cafe he created called ‘School Information Room.’ Candidate number 3, Lee Kang-seon, chairman of Honam Jeil High School Operation Committee, promised to create a listening council through open board meetings and open forums.
Also, candidate number 4, Song Byung-yeon, chairman of Jeolla Middle School, appealed for support by saying that the reason the council exists is for the happiness of children and vowed to devote himself to creating a joyful school atmosphere for everyone.
Kang Ji-woong, the newly elected chairman who won against three other candidates, graduated from Jeonju National University of Education Affiliated Elementary School, Wansan Middle School, Jeolla High School, and Jeonju University Department of Regional Economics, and is contributing to the local economy as the CEO of Pungnyeon Bakery.
The new chairman Kang said in his acceptance speech, "I will do my best to create schools that people want to attend, schools with a good atmosphere and happiness, and a local community full of joy."

Meanwhile, there are 154 schools in Jeonju with school operation committees, and 105 school operation committee members attended the election from each school for voting on that day.
