'ICT Innovation Companies, Global Untact IR' for European Investors
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 9th that it held a 'Global Untact IR' targeting venture capital (VC) and corporate venture capital (CVC) firms from eight European countries to support innovative startups in the ICT sector.
Following the first 'Global Untact IR' held in May, which involved seven investment firms mainly from the North American region, this time the event targeted VCs and CVCs from Europe. A total of 10 investment firms participated from eight European countries, including four CVCs such as Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, and L'Or?al, and six VCs including Viva Ventures Partners and SIA S.p.A.
From domestic ICT companies, eight leading innovative ICT firms in health tech, fintech, security, and network sectors?Strick, WellsCare, OneTwoCM, Coconut Silo, ExoSystems, StradVision, Senstone, and Everspin?participated to present their technologies and visions aimed at the European market.
Oh Sang-jin, Director of the Information and Communications Industry Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “In the situation where the global spread and prolonged impact of COVID-19 have worsened the corporate investment environment, even startups with technological capabilities may collapse due to lack of funding. We will spare no policy support and efforts to help promising startups with innovative capabilities in Korea, a strong ICT nation, turn this crisis into an opportunity and grow into startups leading global trends.”
