Gochang-gun Selected for 'National Book Reading City Association Excellent Reading Program' Contest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 9th that its public library was selected for the 2020 Excellent Reading Program Contest by the (Corporation) National Reading Cities Association, which consists of 27 local governments nationwide, and will receive program funding (worth about 10 million KRW) and other support.
At the Gochang-gun library, a total of six humanities and reading culture programs will be held targeting various groups, from children in the area to adults and people with disabilities.
First, ‘Reading Coaching for Creative Writing’ is planned as a program for efficient reading techniques and various types of writing. Also, ‘A Journey to Find Baekbeom with a Literary Critic’ will read this year’s selected book for Gochang’s ‘One Book Reading’ together with residents of rural areas.
In addition, programs such as ‘Reading Class Meeting through Hangul Art - Poetry, Calligraphy, Painting’, ‘Craft Class with Books’, ‘Between Books and Movies’, and ‘We Are Friends, Let’s Play with Picture Books (Gochang-gun Welfare Center for the Disabled Program)’ will be operated.
