Most were in the metropolitan area, with 251 schools in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, 153 and 89 schools in Bupyeong and Gyeyang, Incheon, and 16 schools in Seoul.
Among the students who attended school, 78,335 underwent testing due to suspected COVID-19 symptoms, of which 8 tested positive. 55,407 were confirmed negative, and 22,920 are still awaiting results. A total of 4 staff members tested positive.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye held a meeting in the morning to inspect the support team preparing for in-person classes and said, "Students are gradually recovering their daily lives while adapting to the changed environment."
