Turkey Approaches 170,000 COVID-19 Cases... Total Deaths Reach 4,669
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 7th (local time), the Turkish Ministry of Health announced that 878 new daily confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 169,218.
The cumulative number of deaths in Turkey due to COVID-19 increased by 21 from the previous day, reaching 4,669.
Fahrettin Koca, the Turkish Minister of Health, stated on Twitter, "In the past 24 hours, 35,846 COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted, bringing the total number of tests to 2,303,258."
He added, "With 1,922 additional recoveries in one day, the total number of recovered patients has increased to 135,322," and noted, "80% of the infected have recovered."

Minister Koca also reported that 591 confirmed patients are currently receiving treatment in intensive care units.
