Gyeongbuk Province Supports 10.6 Billion KRW to 106 Companies with Tourism Promotion Fund
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 7th that it held the Tourism Promotion Fund Operation Deliberation Committee and selected 106 companies as recipients of the 7.47 billion KRW fund public project.
This year's Tourism Promotion Fund support is divided into loan projects and subsidy projects. The main support targets for the loan projects include expansion of tourist hotels, renovation of Hanok experience facilities, and construction/repair of automobile camping sites. The 12 tourism businesses selected in this category will receive interest-free loans of up to 500 million KRW by the end of this year.
The subsidy projects include programs utilizing Gyeongbuk's rich tourism resources such as ▲ promotional projects related to Pohang Mulhoe using local food, promotion of Pohang's specialty, Kkoamegi bread ▲ retro trend "GOBack, Youth Travel!" ▲ "Great Heritage Illuminating Silla" meeting Silla heritage through songs ▲ Hahoe Byeolsin Seonbi Collaboration Festival. In this category, 94 companies were selected.
Through this project, prepared for the second time this year following last year, Gyeongbuk Province and 23 cities and counties will support tourism businesses with a total of 9.3 billion KRW out of 10 billion KRW in contributions, including 5 billion KRW for loan projects and 4.3 billion KRW for subsidy projects.

Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, expressed expectations, saying, "Many of the projects reflect current travel trends such as small-scale trips and extraordinary travel encountered in daily life, which will invigorate tourism in Gyeongbuk."
