KOSDAQ Closes at 2180... KOSDAQ 750 Level 'Just Ahead'
[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the 5th, the KOSPI continued its upward trend, surpassing the 2180 level.
On this day, the KOSPI closed at 2181.87, up 30.69 points (1.43%) from the previous trading day.
The KOSPI opened at 2151.17, down 0.01 points (0.00%) from the previous close, and at one point during the session fell to the 2130 level, but steadily rose after 10 a.m. to reach the 2180 level.
In the securities market, individuals and foreigners sold net amounts of 330 billion KRW and 75.9 billion KRW respectively, while institutions bought a net amount of 419.8 billion KRW.
By sector, pharmaceuticals (3.43%) and distribution (1.68%) rose, while telecommunications (0.95%) and steel & metals (0.42%) declined.
Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, NAVER (0.65%), LG Household & Health Care (0.14%), and Kakao (1.18%) fell, while Samsung Electronics (1.65%), SK Hynix (3.08%), and Samsung Biologics (2.31%) rose.
The KOSDAQ also closed at 749.31, up 6.94 points (0.93%) from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ opened at 743.65, up 1.28 points (0.17%) from the previous trading day, briefly showed a downward trend but soon recovered and continued its strong performance.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals and institutions sold net amounts of 12.4 billion KRW and 68.2 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners bought a net amount of 98.5 billion KRW.
By sector, information devices (1.18%), food & tobacco (1.09%), and entertainment & culture (0.76%) rose, while internet (0.48%) and textiles & apparel (0.94%) declined.
