Prosecutors Assign Case of BJ Han Mimo Accusing Actress Byun Su-mi of 'Procuring Prostitution' to Violent Crimes Division
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] BJ Han Mimo has accused actress Byeon Su-mi of "procuring prostitution and aiding habitual gambling," and the case has been assigned to the violent crimes division.
According to the legal community on the 3rd, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office assigned the case against Byeon to the violent crimes division (Chief Prosecutor Kim Ho-sam).
Earlier, on the 28th of last month, Han filed a complaint through her legal representative to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, accusing Byeon of violating the Act on the Punishment of Acts of Arranging Sexual Traffic and habitual gambling charges.
The prosecution plans to review the complaint and summon both the accuser and the accused for investigation.
Through the complaint, Han claimed, "Byeon arranged prostitution against me in Manila, Philippines, and under the pretext of protecting me, who could not even communicate locally, forcibly made me aid habitual gambling activities."

Regarding Han's claims, Byeon has stated that they are "absurd allegations" and denied the accusations. She has also hired a lawyer and is preparing legal action against Han, including criminal charges for false accusation and defamation.
