Gwangjin-gu Government Office, Health Center, and Dong Community Centers Introduce QR Code Electronic Registry
Installed at entrances of 22 buildings... Accurate personal information verification through identity authentication possible
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is piloting the introduction of an electronic logbook based on QR codes in public institutions.
The electronic logbook was prepared to resolve issues of inaccurate entries and personal information exposure that occurred due to manual management of visitors to public institutions. Additionally, since manual log registration posed a high risk of contact between visitors, the use of a contactless electronic logbook aims to contribute to preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) among residents.
Accordingly, the district has installed the system at the entrances of a total of 22 buildings, including the district office, public health center, and community service centers, and has begun pilot operation.
Visitors can scan the QR code with their smartphones upon entering public institution entrances, check their personal information and self-diagnosis status, and register their names through identity verification.
In case visitors refuse to use the electronic logbook or do not have a smartphone, manual logbook registration through ID verification will be conducted in parallel.
The stored information will be deleted after 4 weeks and will only be used for location and contact tracing during epidemiological investigations if necessary in the future.
