During the second year of the 7th local government administration, the city focused on employment, investment, exports, domestic demand, and tax revenue to lay the foundation for a great economic leap for Changwon's economic revival.
In the employment sector, job creation and employment stability were pursued simultaneously to revitalize the job market. Differentiated youth policies such as Youth Tomorrow Allowance, housing cost support, and Changwon-type youth support funds were implemented, along with extensions of employment industrial crisis areas and customized vocational training for middle-aged and older unemployed individuals.
In the investment sector, the city achieved the largest scale of investment attraction and export contract performance in history. This includes the expansion of Korea GM, attraction of the Turkish company ORS, and pioneering emerging markets in India and Vietnam.
The launch and activation of local currency revitalized the domestic market through improvements in traditional market environments, and stable fiscal 확보 and enhanced taxpayer convenience led to an increase in tax revenue.
Additionally, practical support was provided to small business owners, taxi workers, and farmers severely affected by COVID-19, and energy equality was realized by supporting energy-disadvantaged groups and regions.
Furthermore, to improve labor conditions and protect workers' rights and welfare, the city expanded rest areas for mobile workers, established convenience facilities and counseling programs, built an industrial complex hall, and added a labor counseling center in the Jinhae area, accelerating the leap toward becoming a great economic city where it is good to work.
