Muan Fire Station, 119 Reporting Available via App
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Muan Fire Station (Chief Park Won-guk) announced on the 1st that in the event of disasters such as fire, rescue, and emergency medical services, a 'multi-media 119 reporting service' is available, which utilizes mobile phones as much as possible in addition to voice calls.
The multi-media reporting service allows reporting not only through video calls between the reporter and the 119 situation officer but also via text messages and apps, enabling reporting in various disaster situations where communication is difficult, such as for the hearing impaired or when voice calls are challenging.
Text reporting is accepted when a message is typed and sent to 119, and attaching photos and videos is possible to convey the situation on-site more accurately.
App reporting can be done by downloading and installing the '119 Report' app, selecting the reporting service, and sending it. In particular, for app reporting, GPS location information is sent to the 119 situation room, allowing accurate location confirmation of the reporter, which is highly useful in mountain accidents and other situations.
