'Ulsan Youth Award' This Year Goes to Lee Minju, 3rd Year Student at Ulsan High School

This year’s Ulsan Youth Awards received nominations from March 25 to May 13, and after evaluations by the Office of Education and district offices, a total of 13 candidates were recommended. The Youth Development Committee made the final review and selected 7 winners in 7 categories: volunteer work, filial piety, academic achievement, disability, science and technology, arts and physical education, and internationalization.
The grand prize went to Lee Min-joo, a 3rd-year student at Ulsan High School in the academic achievement category. Despite difficult circumstances, Lee Min-joo showed high academic performance and volunteered for more than 138 hours over the past two years. Serving as the vice president of the student council, she consistently participated in school volunteer club activities, earning recognition for the grand prize.
In the filial piety category, Oh Shin-woo, a 3rd-year student at Gangnam High School, was selected; in the volunteer category, Yoon Da-seon, a 3rd-year student at Dongcheon High School; and in the disability category, Ko Nok-yeon, a 1st-year student at Taeyeon School.
In the science and technology category, Kim Seo-hyun, a 2nd-year student at Namchang Middle School; in the arts and physical education category, Chae Min, a 3rd-year student at Bangojin High School; and in the internationalization category, Jung Eun-ji, a 3rd-year student at Cheongun High School each received awards.
Awards recipients will receive benefits such as priority recommendation to participate in various domestic and international exchange events hosted by the city.

The Ulsan Youth Award is given to exemplary youth to promote healthy development and establish a proper youth image in the region. The ‘Ulsan City Youth Award Ordinance’ was enacted in June 2013, and this year marks the 7th award ceremony.
