Seoul City Continues Emergency Childcare... Nationwide Daycare Centers to Resume Normal Operations from June
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] While nationwide daycare centers will resume operations starting next month on the 1st, daycare centers in the Seoul area will continue their closures.
Seoul City announced on the 30th that, considering the recent increase in confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the closure of daycare centers, which has been in effect since February 25, will be maintained beyond June 1.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare lifted the nationwide closure of daycare centers as of June 1 the day before, allowing local governments to extend closures based on the scale and trends of confirmed cases in their regions.
In particular, strengthened quarantine measures are being implemented in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province, due to the Itaewon Club n-th infection and the Bucheon Coupang logistics center cluster infection, and it was recommended that daycare centers in these areas extend their closures.
