One Suspect in Taean Illegal Entry Arrested in Mokpo
[Asia Economy (Taean) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] One suspect who illegally entered the country through the beaches of Taean, Chungnam, was apprehended in Mokpo, Jeonnam.
According to the Taean Coast Guard on the 27th, this suspect is presumed to be one of the six individuals who illegally entered the country by motorboat found on the beach of Uihyang-ri, Taean, on the 23rd.
The motorboat was discovered and reported by a nearby resident, and the Coast Guard has been investigating with a dedicated task force, believing the motorboat was used by Chinese nationals for illegal entry. The suspect was apprehended three days after the investigation officially began.
CCTV footage from a roadside near the location where the motorboat was found on the morning of the 21st, two days before the report, captured six men walking from the beach to the roadside shoulder. The Coast Guard has identified them as prime suspects for illegal entry and is tracking them.
