[AKyung Hit Product] LG OLED AI ThinQ, Targeting the Premium TV Market with Artificial Intelligence Integration
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LG Electronics is strengthening its attack on the premium TV market with the 2020 model 'LG OLED AI ThinQ' new product equipped with evolved artificial intelligence (AI).
The new product released last month (model numbers 77·65·55GX) applies a gallery design that integrates the screen, drive unit, speaker, and wall-mount parts, unlike the existing wall-mounted type.
Because of this, the entire TV can be placed flush against the wall, enhancing immersion and space utilization. Leading overseas IT media such as Tom's Guide and Digital Trends praised the new product's gallery design as "setting a new standard for wall-mounted TVs" and "feeling like being in an art gallery," respectively.
Additionally, the AI processor 'Alpha 9 3rd generation' is also installed, upgrading the essence of watching and listening to TV. This processor detects the type and condition of the video based on deep learning technology analyzing over one million data points.
Moreover, LG Electronics' proprietary 'Upscaling' technology delivers even clearer picture quality. Customers can experience optimal screen and sound without any separate operation.
The 'AI Picture Pro' function automatically distinguishes video genres such as movies, sports, and animation to provide optimal picture quality. It not only enhances basic video quality but also recognizes human faces and text to display them more clearly. The 'AI Sound Pro' function enriches 2-channel audio sources into virtual 5.1 surround sound.
With the applied user interface (UI), the 'AI Home Board' that conveniently controls home appliances via the TV has become more user-friendly. Customers can check the status of home appliances at a glance and easily control them using the remote control or voice commands while watching the TV screen.
